Daniel O'Donnell confirmed for Strictly Come Dancing

DONEGAL singer Daniel O'Donnell is the latest celebrity to be confirmed for BBC's Strictly Come Dancing.

O'Donnell, is the eighth celebrity to be revealed for the upcoming BBC One series. 

"Earlier this year, I decided to take a short break from touring and told myself that I would only consider doing something if it was both different and exciting," O'Donnell said as the news was announced exclusively on Steve Wright In The Afternoon on BBC Radio 2 earlier today.

"Well, what could be more exciting than Strictly Come Dancing? I love to dance and boy am I looking forward to getting started and being the best that I can be!"

O'Donnell will be a familiar face to many Strictly fans, having carved out a hugely successful career in music in both Ireland and Britain.

His 30 year career has seen him sell 15 million albums and notch up 20 UK Top 40 albums.

Fans of O'Donnell may not be surprised to see his name join the likes of Ainsley Harriet and Jeremy Vine on the show after his stellar performance at the Rose of Tralee final.
