A SCOTTISH busker is using the US Presidential race to got some laughs from locals and American tourist on the streets of in Killarney, Co Kerry.
Singer/songwriter Eric Gudmunsen, nickname 'Scottie' is a stand-up comedian who originally hails from Dundee in Scotland but lives in Killarney where he spends his summer months busking and entertaining tourists on the streets.
"From the moment I first left the shores of Caledonia, people started to call me Scottie. After a period of resisting the inevitable, I eventually warmed to it and ever since it has been the name I use when working.I started telling jokes on stage while singing in a bar in Tenerife in 1996 and I haven’t stopped since", says Gudmunsen.
With the upcoming American presidential election, the funnyman has had plenty of new material and has penned two songs - one about Republican candidate Donald Trump and the other about his Democrat rival Hillary Clinton (called Crooked Hillary).
On the streets of Killarney the song, entitled Donald Trump (Lie Lie Lie), performed with a blonde wig and is going down a treat.
"It's a parody using Paul Simon's tune from The Boxer with my own lyrics," says Gudmunsen.
The song begins: "My name is Donald Trump and I'm a huckster to the core." But the rest of the song is even less complimentary.
