Una Foden shares £340,000 rise in company profits with band mates

FEBRUARY is looking like a fantastic month all round for new mum and Saturday’s star Úna Foden.

The Tipperary singer, who gave birth to her second child earlier this week, is likely to be delighted with the news that the company she owns with her fellow band mates achieved profits that more than doubled in 2013.

Accumulated profits at Day and Night Ventures rose by £340,371 (€454,978) to £696,159 (€891,432) in the year ending August 31, 2013, according to figures lodged with Britain’s Companies House.

The Voice of Ireland presenter also saw the company’s cash more than double from £218,798 to £484,149.

The amount owed by debtors to the firm also increased from £624,643 to £1.13million.

Úna, whose uncle is Country music singer Declan Nerney, is one fifth of girl band The Saturdays.

The pop group have sold over five million records in Ireland and Britain.

And no doubt the firm's profits were given a boost by the band's What About Us single, which sold 114,000 copies alone in its first week of release in March 2013.

Foden, 33, and her England rugby husband Ben welcomed Tadhg John, their second child, into the world on February 2.

The couple already have a daughter Aoife Belle, who turns three next month.
