Robbie Keane's British company records loss of profits

IRISH soccer star Robbie Keane’s British-based company has seen a marginal fall in profits.

The promotions firm saw profits dip from £503,326 to £493,142 in the year ending March 2014.

In the same period, the company’s cash pile fell from £163,387 to just £7,101.

The Tallaght-born star established Robbie Keane Promotions Ltd in 1999, when he was playing with Wolverhampton Wanderers. He transferred to Coventry for a then-record £6 million, the highest fee paid for a teenage player to that point. He was just 19 at the time.

Since then, his transfer earnings over the years have reached an impressive £70 million.

He is currently based in Los Angeles with his family, where he is playing for LA Galaxy on a £3.5 million per year contract.
