Next Generation dinner to bolster heritage and history of the Irish in Britain is a success

A RESPECTED London Irish business man is hoping his new venture will help secure the legacy of being Irish in Britain.

A Networking Dinner for the Next Generation took place earlier this year at Langan’s Brasserie in London's Mayfair.

The event was organised by second generation Irishman Joe Kelliher, a well-known figure within the Irish community in Britain, who established his business Kerry London over 30 years ago.

The company is now one of the most successful independent insurance brokers in Britain.

“Looking ahead to a time when we will be retiring from business and spending more time out of the country, it is important our companies are in safe hands," Mr Kelliher said.

"But not only that, it is also important that the people we entrust them to understand our heritage, the history of our relationships and the trust we have built over the years, thus enabling them to continue to work together harmoniously on our behalf."

To kick-start this process a dinner was organised at Langans in May for companies' 'young guns’ to meet and network.

The dinner took place in the beautiful function room at Langan’s Brasserie, Mayfair and was a great success.

It was supported by the the following companies; Trant Engineering, Ardmore, McGee Group, Rochford Construction, Danny Sullivan Group, Laing O’Rourke and Kerry London Ltd.

After expenses had been covered, there was a surplus of £9,200, which was presented to the Irish Cultural Centre in Hammersmith.

Another evening is planned to take place in May 2018.
