Irish Post buys shares in Irish Voice and Irish America

THE IRISH POST, Britain's leading Irish newspaper, has bought a significant interest in Irish America magazine and Irish Voice newspaper in New York, which are run by Niall O’Dowd.

Irish Post publisher Elgin Loane said: "In this age of the global diaspora it makes perfect sense to link the two leading Irish diaspora publications in the world.

“We believe there is a great future for the Irish brand abroad both in print, online and in creating networks.

"Our success in reviving The Irish Post has led to new ways to create these opportunities. I am also delighted to have the opportunity to work with Niall."

Loane added: “We at The Irish Post are also very much looking forward to our first event since our return, a Business Gala Dinner at The Dorchester here in London, which will celebrate Irish success in Britain.

"Niall will join us and speak about Irish America and the global Irish that night.”

Niall O'Dowd, co- founder of Irish America and Irish Voice and also of IrishCentral.com said: "We look on this as a great opportunity. Elgin Loane and his staff have done an amazing job taking The Irish Post from liquidation back to business as usual. It is now once again unquestionably, the voice of the Irish in Britain.

"The notion of working together on diaspora issues is exciting. We do many successful events such as our Wall Street 50 and Legal 100 and we look forward to creating new network and event opportunities together both in London and New York.

He added: "Elgin has already proven there is enormous support among the Irish in Britain for the new revitalised Irish Post and we look forward to working together on new projects.

"I believe there are many outstanding opportunities to expand the Irish brand in both print, online and in sharing networks and we look forward to exploring them together."
