EU unveils new more durable €10 note

THE new €10 banknote has been unveiled by the European Central Bank.

It will come into circulation across the Eurozone on September 23, with the ECB claiming that the new note will be more durable and more resistant to counterfeiting.

'Europa' - a figure from Greek mythology, which is responsible for the continent’s name - graces the revamped note in the hologram and watermark.

Up to 334 million people in 18 countries now use the euro currency.
