IRISH firm VGC has opened new offices in Glasgow and London – a move it hopes will help boost jobs.
The offices, in Eurocentral near Glasgow and Canning Town in east London, will allow the company to recruitment more local workers for large infrastructure projects.
“We are very excited about the potential of large infrastructure projects in Scotland,” said Sean Dempsey, VGC’s Contract Supervisor who is based in the new Scottish office.
“We are planning a series of recruitment days, to support our expanding role. Information will be published on the VGC website and in local media.”
The company’s office at Eurocentral are just off the A8/M8 motorway eight miles east of Glasgow, linking to the M8 to Glasgow and Edinburgh and the M74 to Carlisle and the south.
This means staff will be well positioned to support the company’s rail and civils operations, such as the large M8 widening and EGIP rail projects.
The new office in Canning Town will be a base for staff based in east London.
“East London is a key location for some of our current and future projects,” said Chris O’Sullivan, Operations Manager.
“We already have an office in Rochester and our head office is in west London: Canning Town is pretty much in the middle, and is an ideal location to help us to service our clients in the east of London more efficiently.”
The VGC Group provides people and delivers contracts for the construction and rail industries.
