PASSENGER numbers on Aer Lingus Regional have increased by 35 per cent last month compared to April 2013.
A high rise in the number of passengers travelling from Britain to Ireland - which was up by 52 per cent - is largely been credited with boosting the jump of more than a third.
The regional carrier, operated by Stobart Air for Aer Lingus, said passenger numbers rose to 112,435 in April.
Aer Lingus Regional has flights from 11 British destinations including Glasgow, Birmingham, Newcastle upon Tyne and London-Southend.
Flights to Dublin were particularly instrumental in increasing traffic. Dublin/UK flights increased 50 per cent compared with the same time last year.
April was the 10th month of consecutive growth, and May is expected to deliver similar results.
April was helped by the Easter holiday - this month will be similarly helped by the two May bank holidays.
Stobart Air, who operate the airline that was formerly Aer Arann, has increased the size of the flight, with seven new aircraft now in service.
