THE Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity will be hoping people dig deep into their pockets at tomorrow's annual Construction Industry Charity Christmas Lunch.
To help things go with a swing, JCB has donated a mini excavator worth more than £15,000 to be auctioned off to raise funds for the charity who provide welfare and financial support for the construction industry, including many Irish workers and their families.
The Lighthouse Club charity has been delivering charitable welfare and support to the sector since 1956 and since then has distributed more than £14million to construction workers and their families.
Bill Hill, CEO of the Lighthouse Club, said: “JCB has been a terrific supporter for many years.
"We can’t thank the company enough for this extremely generous donation of an excavator to feature in our Christmas Lunch charity auction.”
JCB UK & Ireland Sales Director Dan Thompstone added: “JCB has a long-standing history of supporting the Lighthouse Club Charity.
"We are delighted to continue that support by donating a JCB mini excavator for auction to help individuals and their families who have suffered from injury or illness in the construction industry.”
The Irish Post has teamed up as media partner with the Lighthouse CLub for it's 60th anniversary year in 2016.
